The New England region in New South Wales is home to Gara Gorge near Armidale. This is a popular spot with climbers as they test their skill against the sharp Gara Granite. Stonehenge at Glenn Innes is worth a visit if driving through for bouldering, or a little off the main highway from Armidale is Mt Yarrowych.
North West NSW is home to Mount Kaputar National Park near Narrabri. In addition to great climbing, Mt Kaputar is home to the endangered Giant Pink Slug and is well worth a visit. The Warrumbungles, at Coonabarabran are home to some fantastic adventure climbing on a grand scale. If you want to try out some classic multi-pitch climbs this is a worthwhile destination.
